Binta Niambi Brown

Binta Niambi Brown is a corporate partner in Kirkland & Ellis’ Finance and Secured Lending Group. Ms. Brown represents corporate borrowers, private equity groups and financial institutions in connection with secured and unsecured commercial lending transactions, including acquisition financings, senior, second lien and subordinated financings and other banking and credit matters.

Ms. Brown's pro bono practice has included involvement with economic development initiatives assisting women in war-torn regions, advocacy on behalf of human trafficking victims and work with the New York City public schools.

She graduated cum laude from with a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College and holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School.

Ms. Brown is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Barnard College President’s Advisory Council, and the New York Philharmonic Patron Committee and is a Founding Member of the Young New Yorker Patrons for the Philharmonic.

Ms. Brown has been honored as 2003-2004 Fellow in the Coro Foundation's Leadership New York Program as well as a 2005 Certificate of Appreciation awarded by Advisor Support Team, United States Army and Fifth Division, Iraqi Army for outstanding pro bono support of a military operation that resulted in securing emergency medical care in the U.S. for a young Iraqi civilian.
