The EEOC backlog is more than 10 years - especially if one sues the government. Lawyers do not want to take those cases; adjudication takes forever & when cases are transferred to state agencies or departments to lower the EEOC's backlog, that takes about the same 10 years or so. Justice delayed is justice denied!....What can YOU do to help to get women & minorities equal rights, prevent discrimination and retaliation & enforce the laws against treating women & minorities unfairly? While women do get lower pay, no woman has been elected president or mayor of NYC, some young women think women can be "anything"; in fact, that is something women my age fought for when women comprised 3% of the legal profession. Look today, however, & see that not too many women and/or minorities become partners in big law firms, most are relegated to government or not-for-profit jobs and not for big pay. Not too many guys graduate from law school wanting to go into government or not-for-profits (or sole practitioner work for lack of other opportunities)......WE NEED AN EFFECTIVE STUDY & ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS AGAINST DISCRIMINATION IN ORDER TO MAKE LIFE FAIR FOR WOMEN & MINORITIES.....Getting an education and being top of your class isn't enough - EVEN IN 2009 (without family connections or big bucks, it's almost impossible for women & minorities to break any glass ceiling...LOOK HOW THEY PUSHED HILLARY OUT OF THE ROLE CALL VOTE!!!!
